A Canadian Christmas tradition, Nova Scotia Black Fruitcake is made with candied fruits, candied pineapple, cherries, and nuts, with just enough moist cake to hold it all together. Cakes are normally aged for a minimum of three weeks in overproof domestic Rum; for this style, the older your cake is, the better it gets.
